Maruti Suzuki has officially commenced commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. The foundation stone for this facility was laid in August 2022. It is the carmaker’s third facility in the state after Manesar and Gurugram.

To begin with, the Kharkhoda facility will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 units. This plant boosts the brand's annual production capacity to 2.6 million units. This facility will initiallymanufacture the Brezza sub-four-metre SUV.

Maruti is now gearing up to launch its first electric vehicle for the Indian market, the e Vitara. Showcased in its production guise at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the model will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and the Tata Curvv EV. It will arrive later this year with two battery pack options, and a range of up to 500km on a single charge.
