• The electric sunroof is rare in its segment and works even with Hinglish voice commands.

• It gets front LED fog lamps with a cornering function, sequential front turn indicators, and rain-sensing wipers.

• It is equipped with a wireless smartphone charger and USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports (5V/3A).

• It comes with an informative 10.24-inch digital instrument cluster with the option of a multi-dial view.

• Seats are comfortable; the front ones are ventilated and getting in is easy through the doors that open 90 degrees wide.

• It has a touch panel to control functions such as the air-conditioner and gets an auto-dimming IRVM.

• There is adequate shoulder room at the rear for two healthy adults, and it has 366 litres of bootspace.

• The 10.24-inch HD infotainment houses a Harman-sourced six-speaker setup with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Negatives:

• The Punch EV misses out on smartphone charging ports at the rear.

• Apart from the rear door storage, there is only a centre cubby hole to keep a phone or a wallet.
• It randomly shows errors on the instrument cluster about the charging flap being open while driving.
• The infotainment has connectivity issues while pairing through Android Auto/Apple CarPlay or Bluetooth.
• The rear bench set can feel restrictive in terms of legroom and headroom for taller passengers.

Positives:

• Gets a five-star safety rating and has six airbags as standard across variants.
• The Punch EV is available with a 360-degree camera system and a blind spot view monitor.
• It comes equipped with an electronic parking brake button along with auto-hold functionality.
• It features ESP and hill-descent control and gets all-disc brakes on all four wheels.

Negatives:

• It does not benefit from any ADAS features as of now.

Positives:

• The Punch EV has an attractive and modern SUV stance making it an appealing purchase decision.

• The cabin is has been trimmed out in a piano-black scheme and gets a touch panel to control functions such as the air-con.

• The jewelled gear dial is elegantly finished in chrome and looks premium with the piano black trim surrounding it.

• The two-spoke leatherette steering wheel makes it feel like a more expensive car.

• Its dual-tone theme with blue stitching matches the ‘EV’ aura.

Negatives:

• The Punch EV’s cabin has a few panel gaps that don’t earn it good points for fit and finish.

• Tata designers should have designed the rear exterior portion to look different from the regular Punch.
